Just a quick report: Alex and I made it to our favorite restaurant tonight, the East Coast Grill!!
I started with a virgin bloody mary & half dozen oysters followed by the Sea Bass special with red pepper sauce, collard greens, watercress and plantain mash. YUM! Alex had the usual pulled pork platter (which, of course I sampled & that was good too!)... Andy takes up so much space now that dessert was not a possibility. Should be all energized for tomorrow, now just need to get to bed!

The Quiet Before the Storm.....
Today I went to St. E's for the ultrasound and fetal monitor, all is still well.
Andrew's weight estimate is in the "77th percentile", at 8lb 5oz!
The tech advised they're not always accurate but based on his last ultrasound weight, it's right in there. His heart rate was 143bpm, in the normal range.
On the fetal exam machine, there were 3 contractions, about 20 minutes apart (I could feel
them but they're just minor cramps). When I first walked in, my blood pressure was 150/80!
I'd just walked from the parking garage and up 3 flights of stairs so she re-took it at the end and it was 124/68. My urine specimen showed slightly elevated protein but the blood sugar was fine.
Tomorrow is the big test to see if we're ready!
We show up at 6:30... All the excitement, hope I manage some z's tonight!!
But ahhh, the help of hospital meds, if I am in need they should take good care of me.
I am arming Alex with the call list.... Not sure what my state of mind will be!
It's just a lot of waiting around so I'm sure I'll want to be providing status reports-
Also don't know what my cervix is doing (doctor didn't see me) so who knows if tomorrow will be 'the day'/I am not getting any false hopes up/don't want to end up just leaving disappointed and anxious!
Cell phones don't really work inside so Alex will probably check messages while out on butt breaks (yes, he still needs to quit!). There's also the room phone but probably better if that is reserved for outgoing calls.
Here are directions to the hospital, please check before heading in:
To St. Elizabeth’s Hospital
Take I-93 to the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) West.
Follow the Mass Pike to Exit 20 (Brighton-Cambridge).
Proceed through the $1 tollbooth and bear left towards Allston/Brighton (Cambridge Street).
Follow H signs, staying on Cambridge Street, for approximately 1.5 miles to the Medical Center.
Take a left onto Warren Street, then immediate right on onto the first drive (it’s a steep road, to the right of Brighton High School) the sign indicates “Main Entrance”.
Park in the upper/parking garage B on the left.
Parking isn't free (today it was $7 for 4 hours).
However, the attendant isn't there some of the time (and I think after 5) so it ends up being free.
Enter at St. Margaret’s Women’s Pavillion
Across from the elevator on your way up, there is a Dunkin' Donuts!!
In case you're wondering, the hospital is soooo close, you can see our house from the top of the parking garage!
